Probably the most important and sacred temple to the British people has got to be STONE HENGE.

Estimated around 8 thousand years old it stands as a monument to the ancient religions of Great Britain, down through the years it has been used by Druid and Witch to celebrate the festivals, and although much of the history behind the old ways were destroyed in an attempt to wipe the country clean of pagan faiths, we can stand proud and know that as a nation dating back even before the stones the spirit of the old ones and our ancient ancestors have survived and the call of the spirits of the land has been heard and so we gather.

Druids and Witch's are people who naturally carry the spirit of the ancients down through the centuries endeavoring to maintain what we can of the old religion. We may not always get it right and true thousands of years ago they may not have been called either Witch or Druid but these days and for the last few thousand years these names we have chosen (or have been given as in the case of the Witch) to Identify ourselves with those ancient builders of Stone circles and Wooden Henge and honored the earth
.

Grove members with Arch Druidess Veronica Hammond of the Cotswold order Of Druids..

By kind invitation of Veronica Hammond Arch Druidess of
The Cotswold Order Of Druids, Members of the Dolmen Grove attended a fabulous Solstice Rite within Stone Henge, and although out of the deepest respect for our rites and rituals no photographs are taken during, we did snap a few shots to mark the occasion. The Dolmen pagan folk band proudly played a medieval fanfare that accompanied the procession upon the trek to the eastern corner of the Stones.

A splendid energy was invoked and with the glorious weather the day was and can only be conceived as purely magical.
Professor Ronald Hutton gave a wonderful intro speech and shared in a beautiful rite conducted by Veronica Hammond.

Whilst the offerings were being made The Dolmen once again played a flurry of drums accompanied by Flute and Bouzouki and Guitar. The surreal atmosphere of the magic circle accompanied by the starlings perched high upon those great monolithic giants made one feel that the Gods and Goddesses of ancient are so very much alive.

The Procession up front the branch of oak is being carried. Led By Veronica Hammond and Ronald Hutton.

Although pictures are not taken during the rite a few were taken after,
