Foreword/Narrations by Professor Ronald Hutton.
We appreciate greatly the time, effort and expertise given by Professor Ronald Hutton in recording this wonderful foreword and also for the reading of the splendid and moving piece in the harrowing ‘Doctors Account’.

The Doctors Account was probably one of the most challenging pieces due to the nature of its content, being, like the rest of the album, an entirely true story. Recorded in his diary by Doctor Richard Wiseman, a royalist surgeon at the siege of Melcombe, we feel it displays in sickening detail the horrendous conditions under which men fought and died during this most destructive of conflicts.

Prof Hutton plays to perfection the character of Dr Wiseman and in doing so produces a haunting atmosphere that sends a chill through the spine, leaving the echo of his voice and the account, firmly rooted in ones memory for all time.

Special Thanks Ronald from Taloch, Mark and all of us at The Dolmen.

Artwork & Cover Design by the painter, Sem Vine.

This is the third Dolmen album cover to date by this artist and they are all truly unique and fantastic.  What a talent to be able to emotionally relate, conjure and enchant with such awesome visuals.
Semi is an artistic inspiration, authentic and unique

Many Many Thanks for blessing us with your artwork Semi.

Narrations by Keith Himsworth.

When planning the album it became apparent that a narration should be used to give bulletins, in order to bring the civil war era to life.  Some from mark Vine’s book and some from actual written accounts of the time, these vocals add colour and authenticity to the project, drawing the listener in to this desperate and dangerous world.

Our special thanks to Keith who dived in and did such a fantastic job.
Bringing his own unique personality and contributing an energy to what has become a unique musical work.
We never had a clue how this concept would turn out, but Keith's zest and passion carried our trials and errors forward producing such a classic result.

We are deeply thankful mate.

Mercury Moon

Our Special thanks to Kev & Fee at Mercury Moon for the time and patience getting our sleeve and albums together.
The help and support has been out of this world and we are forever in your debt.
Thanks over and over again we love you both.

Guest musicians :

Jez Lee  Guitar/bouzouki on King Savior
Its been some years since Taloch and Jez had worked musically, last time being in the late 1980s in a techno studio in Paris.
King Savior is a combination of styles seldom found to work between rock and old folk music, yet the two spontaneous and unannounced pulled it off in this fantastic track, combining a feeling or even a taste of medieval wizardry ensnared within sound.

Lucy Smith  Fiddle
Lucy has joined us on stage quite a frew times over the past couple of years, we hope that Lucy does well on her venture to study on a deeper level the inner workings of folk & music at Uni. well done Lucy good luck with every thing.

Thanks The Dolmen x x x
